I walked into one of my fav local Walmarts today as they always have new funkeys....I saw a Mutli-Player with a Rare Tiki & a Bones!! I thought I had found something NEW!! As I was looking over the package to see what I had found I felt something weird on the very edge.....someone had split open the package very carefully and swapped out the multi for a common bones!! I started looking through all the funkeys & they had done it to a C & R Lucky, a C & R Dyer, 2 Tanks, 1 Berger, 1 C Snipe & 3 Waggs & replaced each with a Series 1 common....I loaded my basket & went to find the toy manager as we have gotten to know each other very well. She really doesn't know much about funkeys and once I explained from beginning to end she understood....someone bought the new ones then went home & carefully replaced the ones they wanted then retuned them to the store for their money back. So I got to explain to her whole crew & the customer service ppl what to look for & to keep a list of each funkey & what they look like so they will know if something has been switched. If I was someone else I would been very mad to have bought one of those & found out I had been jipped!! I am only warning as I know some parents (who don't play funkeys or know much about them) go out & see a multi or a name of one they know their kids want (or like my hubby who calls me to ask because he doesn't know anything about them) and just buys them to surprise them...so just a warning & sorry such a long post.

Oh my! thats like stealing! That is a terrible thing that that person did! and also Im surprised because I never even see any multiplayers that anyone would be able to even do that to lol. At least that didnt happen to you for a funkey that you didnt have yet (AKA VR lucky or VR Snipe) or im sure it would be double the fustration. hopefully whoever tries that again gets caught I wonder what they will do with the ones in the opened packages.

I wonder what they will do with the ones in the opened packages. They were going to put them in as Lost Merchandise & yep stealing....I hate ppl like that!!...but I got to advise them on what to look for so hopefully it will not happen again.....They are going through reciepts now (talked to them after this happened as I thought of returns) but if anyone was this careful to take out of the the pack without tearing the cardboard stuff inside then they know what they are doing....I only noticed as my fingernail snagged the tear in the package!!...the could have paid cash too!!

Unbelievable! I hate to think that there are people out there that would do that, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. The store is lucky that you came along and spotted that. There aren't too many people who can quickly identify what the packages should look like as you did! I hope the store required an ID when they refunded the money, I'd love for the store to catch those thieves.

That's pretty sad considering the risk of them saying something like, "Um, sir? this isn't a berger." I am very good friends with some of the Toys R Us staff, and one of them actually caught a scam like this because of his knowledge of funkeys. He's a pretty cool guy.
