Mattel is no longer supporting the UB Funkey's web site, www.ubfunkeys.comI have some of the same information that was on their site written in my blog if you are looking for more information. The link is my signature line if you want to check it out. However, they are still supporting the game's server that saves the game data and allows us to chat & play multiplayer games. We've been having trouble, though, with connecting to the server. I can tell because it won't let us access our Unique Funkey Name. Is anyone having that problem? I called the Mattel customer service line a couple days ago and they said the server is working, so it must be on our end. I'm not sure that I believe them, though!

I've been having the same problem. Last Tuesday, the 11th, it was working just fine, but since then it hasn't been. It's frustating because you can still play all the games, but it doesn't save anything you. It can't possibly be on all of our end. It must be something on their end. I haven't been able to get through to their support line because of the holiday weekend.
Has anyone else had any luck?

So is the site completely gone now. I tried to call today as well, but again since the holiday wasn't able to get anyone.

Just got off the phone with mattel. Yes the site is completely gone and they are no longer supporting the website. You can still download the 4.8 software for now and I'm currently getting the 5.0 update. However, mattel strongly recommended I make a back up installation disk as very soon this will not be available either. She stated that toys typically have a life span of about 1 year and because funkeys was so popular they kept it up for several years. They will continue to troubleshoot issues as long as support has the software available, but once it is unavailable they will not be able to help support it. She did not give me a time frame on that.
I had trouble yesterday with the download because I did not have WinZip on my computer to unzip the file. So, if you are trying to install from the mattel servers be sure you have that. She also stated you need to uninstall any copies of funkeys you have on your computer prior to this download or the file will end up corrupt.
She was really wonderful to work with and even called me back with an update when she found out that the site no longer worked. She was not aware that it had been taken down. Good luck and have fun playing funkeys for as long as you can!

I just got off the phone with them too, but sounds like you had a much more knowledeable rep, although the one I talked to was helpful in the end. She did confirm that they are having trouble with the server right now and the engineers are working on it. So, before you reinstall, you might want to wait for the server problem to be fixed just in case that was the real problem. It looked like anything coming from service.mattel.com is not working right now.
Thanks April for the update, and please let us know when you're playing again. We should trade Unique Funkey names once we're on again.

One more thing....we should distinquish the difference between UBFunkeys.com web site and the Service.Mattel.com web site for those who aren't as familiar with the game.
The UBFunkeys.com website is no longer supported and is permanently down, but the server that gives us downloads and saves our progress, allows us to chat & play multiplayer games is still supported for a while longer. The advice that April shared is very good.

So far I've been able to completely download Paradox Green. I did have to download an Adobe Flash Driver. Which was 10.0, but UB Funkeys really calls for Adobe Flash 9. The first time I got in, it froze up giving me an error message regarding a movie running slowly with the Flash 10. I simply got out of it and restarted funkeys and it seemed to work fine. I haven't ventured into playing any games yet but will let you know how it goes.

Hi all,
When I log in, I can play the game, but it doe not seem like I am on their server. I did see a message when I first logged in about their engineers working on something. I also tried to get some loot, and it said I was not online. Does anyone know if the Game server is still up ?. When I logged in last week, it loaded a new update. Is there a way for me to tell what version I am on ?
Thanks Peter

The server is no longer working.
To determine the version you're on, we might be able to help by determining what you can see in the game (such as which portals were added, or if Angus is wandering around). I have listed the different updates that you can see in the game that came with each update.

Update: The server is up & running. It's saving progress and you can visit cribs, buy loot, play with others.
