Our Speed Racer Funkey isn't working. We keep getting the message "Something is wrong with the UB Funkey, can you check it for me?" Usually I can wiggle the Funkey around, or wipe off the bottom and it will work. But with our Speed Racer, I've tried everything including trying to clean the bottom with a q-tip & a little rubbing alcohol (I hope that wasn't going to hurt it more....if that's even possible!).
When we first got Speed Racer, it worked for a little while, so not sure what happened.
Has anyone else had this problem and know what solved it? I might try to see if the store will let me exchange it for a new one.

I had the same problem with my red Panda Bear i couldn't get it to work. so i have come to the conclution that..... some of the funkeys get gumbled up during shipping and that loosens the wires, shaking them around and jiggiling them on the hub causes the wiers to come out. there for.... try not 2 jiggle or wiggle them. Once again only a guess but it seams to be what is happining!!!!! hope they give u a new one!! - LULI

I ended up taking back the Speed Racer and exchanging it. So the conclusion I came to was to try all those ideas and then if it still doesn't work, and if all the other Funkeys do work, then you take it back!
So to sum it up, if your Funkey won't work: 1. jiggle it while it's sitting on the hub
2. rub the bottom carefully so it doesn't scratch (unless it is Scratch...lol)
3. unplug the ub & plug it back in
4. use some rubbing alcohol on the bottom
5. If none of those work, then return it to the store.
6. If the store won't take it, then there is a 6 month warranty, you can see the details on the last page of the instruction booklet. There is an address there to return it.

some funkeys have gunk on the bottum that takes a while to get off.. I noticed my Rare sprout makes a rattling noise, some reason it still works find but if anything ever does go wrong I have normal and VR sprout to back it up!
